Date A Girl Who is Filmy

Never thought I'd write a Date A Girl Who... kind of blog, but I still happened to write one.  I wrote it for my friends, and of course myself (Well, I'm filmy and still single) :P And my awesome friends who also are my editors (for whatever I write, even college assignments) found the write up very much "our kind of thing."

Being in love with someone is an ultimate feeling. And when you think of love, you think of red roses, romance in the Swiss Alps, dancing in the rain, and of course, you always listen to some music being played in the background. Basically, we Indians (both boys and girls) believe in a filmy love life.

Girls prefer a filmy love life. They want their guy to be like “Rahul”. They want their guy to propose to them on a hot air balloon (over the Swiss Alps- the filmy way). They believe “mere sapnon ka raajkumar safed ghodi pe aayega”. They want a wedding as grand as the Bhansali films. So here’s to all the filmy girls and their “filmy sapnein”. So boys, check out why you should date, love and marry a girl who’s filmy.

Date a girl who’s filmy, she has the collection of all the Ray, Ghatak, Alfred Hitchcock, Akira Kurosawa classics. She has posters of George Clooney, Sean Connery, Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan and Ranbir Kapoor adorning her room. And the latest entry to the list of heartthrobs being Aditya Roy Kapoor! She even has posters of “Andaaz Apna Apna”, “Kaagaz ke Phool”, “Pyaasa”, “DDLJ”. She madly loves “007.” She is a fan of “Bade Ghulam Ali’s Ghazal” and also loves “Michael Jackson.” She has read all the Harry Potter and Twilight books, before watching the movies.

Date a girl who is filmy, you’ll always be surprised by the different ways by which she shows her love for you.  She’ll always make you feel special- the filmy way. She’ll sing aloud, “Yeh ladka haay allah kaisa hai deewana” to you make you realize that she loves you. When you’ll need more time to think about marriage, she’ll explain you, “ek chutki sindoor ki keemat tum kya jano”.

Date a girl who’s filmy, you won’t have to think about booking movie tickets, she’ll take care of that (after all she’s a movie buff). You’ll find her singing in every situation, she has a song dedicated to every situation. She always thinks, “aaj main upar aasmaan neeche” when she’s with you. She loves it when “aankhon hi aankhon mein ishaaraa” happens.

Date a girl who’s filmy, she’ll be the entertainer for you. She’s the Basanti who keeps on talking but still says, “yunki waise toh mujhe zyaada bolne ki aadat toh hai nahi.” Don’t underestimate her power, she can anytime go dangerous and warn you “Jaani yeh chaaku hai. Agar lag jaaye toh khoon nikal aata hai.”

She’s your graceful Umrao Jaan, gorgeous Heroine, sometimes Nautanki Saala, and Khatti-Meethi. She’s can even be your Mother India for the way she cares for you, she’s the “Babli” you’ve always wanted.

Dating a filmy girl is not enough, love her, marry her and she’ll make your life amazing. Your life might not be a bed of roses, but she’ll make it beautiful like a film, that always has a happy ending. If not a happy ending, then “haste haste kat jaaye raste.” She’ll be with you, no matter what because she believes “Tum ho toh gaataa hai dil… Tum nahi toh kuch hai kahaan…”

So what are you waiting for??? Go find your filmy girl and live your movie! J

The things I have and I don't

I’ve never been too fond of long breaks, particularly for two reasons- one, I used to get bored of not doing anything at all and the second, not being able to decide what to do. Yes, I’ve forever been this unpredictable sort of a girl. My priorities changed from time to time, I was indecisive about my career, I’ve been the perfect example of being the most imperfect girl on earth. This time the break was as unpredictable as I am. The sudden closure of college, boring days at home, no fun, no classes, it was a boring life altogether. I tried out a lot of stuffs but nothing seemed interesting. I decided to switch to my old passion of taking a round of the city and clicking random people.
Woke up early that day, took my camera and left home. I went to different places and clicked a lot of people, their pets, birds and lots more. I met a lot of people at Kovalam, tourists, fishermen, and little kids who were playing on the beach. I clicked so many faces that day; I enjoyed the sea, sand and the sun all alone.
On the way, I stopped at a roadside tea shop to get my favourite energy drink, “CHAI.” I met a boy who worked at the tea shop, Hari, who was just ten years old. We became friends in a very short span of time. He could speak English to some extent and that made it easy for me to talk to him. I asked him about his family and he said his mother is a daily waged labourer and his father runs the tea shop and he works with him. He lives in a small tent that’s put up near the tea shop, but spends most of his nights sleeping on the footpath. When asked about his education, he said he is studying in third standard in a primary school and after works at the tea shop with his father  He told me that he love school, playing  with his friends and wants to go for higher studies. He wants to be an actor someday. He also mentioned that he wanted to see the shore temple at Mamallapuram. Hari was such an interesting character and such a cute little friend that I couldn’t even realize that I spent more than an hour at the tea shop and had some six cups of tea. When Hari noticed I was carrying my camera he asked if I was a tourist, and hearing a NO from me he asked me to click some pictures of him, which I gladly did. After I clicked his pictures, (by the way he was a great poser) ;D he said he only has one picture, the one in his school ID card but that too is now torn. Before leaving I promised him, as soon as my exams get over I’ll take him to Mamallapuram and give him a copy of all the pictures I clicked of him.

After a well spent day, on my way back home I just assessed the moments I spent with Hari, I realized that I got more than what Hari has, though I had to fight for everything.

* I have a home to live.
* I am getting the right education.
* I have a lot of little things that make me happy.
* I have people to support my dreams.
* I have a lot of pictures of mine to show off.

But soon I realized there are a two things that Hari has and I don’t. He has a lot more than I have.

*Hari has his dreams.
*Hari has his innocence.
And those two little things make Hari so much more special. Those few moments spent with Hari will forever be the best time of my life. Hari taught me a great lesson; he taught me what life is all about and how the smallest of things make a great difference.  :)

The most important corner of your home - "THE BATHROOM"

I know most of you are wonder why I have chosen this topic. But tell me one something; don’t you think “a bathroom” is the most important corner of the house?? I bet you can’t disagree. Still wondering why I’m writing about a bathroom?? Well, there are several reasons I’m writing so passionately about a bathroom (You just raised an eyebrow, caught you!)

Enough beating around the bush and now there’s why the most important corner of your home is “THE BATHROOM”

*
OF COURSE YOU NEED ONE TO GO PEE, GO SHIT AND TAKE A BATH. That’s the basic utility of a bathroom.

*
PRIVACY MATTERS THE MOST:  Trust me; this is most private area in your house. Well, your room might be your den, and nothing better than a bathroom. You’ll find people barging in to your room (mostly friends/siblings/cousins)  but your bathroom?? Well, no one would barge in at least (as long as they don’t have anything else in mind :P ) When you are terribly annoyed lock yourself up in your bathroom, people won’t worry much and you can avoid them easily. You can dream, think, cry, sleep and talk to your boyfriend over the phone and … You know what I mean ;) (DIRTY MIND) :P

*
BEST STAGE TO PERFORM: Are you a singer, or a dancer?? (No I’m not talking about the trained ones; there are amateurs like me too). Dear reader, if you love singing or dancing, but are afraid to go out in public and show your talent, then the bathroom is the best stage. A bathroom singer is never BAD. No matter how bad/good a singer you are you will be appreciated. To be very honest, I bagged my first big show that way (A CONFESSION). And about dancers, well nobody gets too see you, (still beware) so DANCE LIKE A MAN!!! :D

*
THE MINE OF THOUGHTS: How much time do you spend in your bathroom??? Think wisely, I can bet 90% of you spend a long time in your bathroom each morning (when you get in to a bath). But, you spent 73% of the time in thinking and the rest for taking a bath and changing. All your beautiful (even the sick and crazy) thoughts, ideas strike you only when you are inside the bathroom. Painters, poets, authors, philosophers have accepted that it’s the bathroom that inspires them. Even Archimedes discovered his great law of density in the bathroom (Hope you all know the EUREKA!! Story). So its more or less a proven fact

“A BATHROOM IS A MAN’S MINE OF THOUGHTS AND IDEAS”

Not sure if its worth sharing with you all, still give it a thought. Love your bathroom. It is helpful to you in so many ways. If you’ve never really thought about it, go to your bathroom and think of the times when you were sad, you turned the tap on and cried. Think of the moments when people discouraged your talents and your tried testing your skills in the bathroom. Think you the love letters who have hidden in some corner of your bathroom to keep it safe. Think of the times when your best ideas struck you while you were in and when you implemented them you came out with flying colours. Each one of you will have some memory related to that little corner of the house, that you’ve never considered to be important unless you needed to go pee. And there’s a little thing about life that plays a big role.
